For a long time, boring white walls no longer have to rule households. Contemporary wallpaper in Ukraine offer a wide selection of colors and patterns, so you can decorate every room according to your imagination. However, not all wallpapers are suitable for all rooms. When choosing, it is necessary to remember for which room we are choosing wallpaper and which wallpaper material is suitable, taking into account the way the room is used.
What materials can you choose?
Basically, you have several options. You can choose paper, vinyl or fabric wallpapers. Their properties are very different, and it is good to know what requirements we set for them before choosing specific wallpapers.
Paper wallpaper: this is the cheapest option for wallpaper, and on the market you will find a wide variety of colors and patterns to choose from. Unfortunately, their low price is compensated by less durability, and the wallpaper also does not withstand moisture. Gluing is also more complicated. The glue should be applied to the wallpaper and you should wait until the paper absorbs it. When drying, the paper shrinks, so it is necessary to slightly glue the wallpaper on top of each other. Wallpaper is also more difficult to remove and cannot stick to wet substrates or those that have cracks or crevices.
Non-woven wallpapers: universal wallpapers, the surface of which is resistant to abrasion, scratches and can even be wiped off with a wet cloth. Non-woven wallpapers are very easy to install. Just glue the wall and apply dry wallpaper. Non-woven wallpapers are also easily removed and re-glued. You don't even have to worry about mold, the wallpaper is breathable and ventilated.
Vinyl wallpapers: where moisture forms and there is a risk of falling on the wall, choose vinyl wallpapers. They are resistant to moisture and perfectly resist mechanical damage, such as abrasions and scratches. You can easily wash their surface. For gluing vinyl wallpaper, it is necessary to invite a specialist. They stick like paper wallpaper and playfully cover bumps and small cracks.
Textile wallpapers: provide a certain dose of luxury, warmth and sound insulation. The ideal appearance of the surface and great weight make textile wallpaper a unique case. The surface can even be equipped with a protective vinyl coating. Gluing again is a little more difficult, mainly due to the greater weight of the wallpaper.
Each room has its own requirements:
• Wallpaper for the wall in the bedroom - a room full of peace, comfort and with little movement does not require super-resistant wallpaper, so in this room you can be satisfied with paper wallpaper.
• Wallpaper for the wall in the living room - here the situation is more complicated, and it is necessary to take into account that the living room is the central room where all the events take place. Therefore, get non-woven wallpapers that can withstand higher requirements and at the same time can remove small dirt that can be caused by children or pets. Non-woven wallpaper is also a good choice for corridors and rooms. But if you have a spacious living room, do not be afraid to use luxurious textile wallpaper.
• Wallpaper for the walls of the kitchen and bathroom - instead of classic tiles, try to use vinyl wallpaper that resists moisture and is not against several splashes of water. But keep in mind that even durable vinyl wallpapers cannot withstand long-term contact with water and are not suitable for cladding directly around a bath or shower.
• Wallpaper for the walls in the children's room - vinyl wallpaper is perfect for a room for small children, which will not suffer from an accidental print of a dirty child's hand or a splash of a drink. Everything is easy to wipe. The second option can be paper wallpaper, which can be replaced either due to the destruction of the wallpaper, or due to the change of children's motifs for a small "adult", depending on how the children grow, and at the same time, frequent replacement does not spoil you financially.
