In Ukraine, greenhouse tomatoes fell in price this week. The reason is the seasonal increase in supply from local greenhouses, writes TSN.

This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

As of April 25, tomatoes were sold at UAH 90-120/kg ($2,28-3,04/kg), which is on average 20% cheaper than at the end of the last working week.

Representatives of Ukrainian greenhouse plants complain about the complete lack of demand for their products. While the supply of tomatoes from local farms has increased significantly.
According to analysts, prices for local tomatoes in Ukraine are currently 34% higher on average than at the end of April last year. However, most market operators noted that the downward price trend in this segment will dominate the market next week as well.
