The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in his evening address on April 27, reacted to another missile attack by the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian energy industry. He emphasized that part of the rockets were shot down today. It is very important that such strikes do not become routine for the world, so Ukraine needs at least 7 Patriot systems.

The head of state said this in an evening address. According to him, the trajectories of the missiles and the very nature of the strike were calculated by the Russian terrorists in such a way as to complicate the work of air defense as much as possible.

"Another massive missile strike took place today - 34 Russian missiles of various types. The main target is energy, various objects of the industry: both electricity and gas transit facilities. Those are the gas facilities on which, in particular, the security of supply to the European Union depends," Zelenskyi said.

As the president noted, in the regions where energy facilities were damaged by Russian attacks, all services are working around the clock to restore generation and distribution.

"Now in many of our regions - Lviv Oblast, Frankiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Dnipro Oblast - in some of our regions, power engineers and repair crews are working. All necessary services are engaged to restore the generation and distribution that were destroyed by the Russian strikes. The maximum possible will certainly be done, and I thank everyone who is working now, worked all day," he noted.

The President also expressed his gratitude to the leaders of all countries who condemn Russian aggression and actively interact with partners who have air defense systems and missiles capable of protecting Ukraine. Zelenskyi said that Ukraine needs at least 7 Patriot air defense systems and called on partners not to waste time to give Russia a "signal of determination".

"Of course, I thank all partners who have already helped us with air defense: now every system for the protection of the sky, every anti-missile is literally the protection of life. And it is important that all new agreements with partners that already exist to strengthen our air defense, it is important that every initiative of friends of Ukraine help, in particular, with the search and supply of "patriots", so that all this works as soon as possible. Ukraine needs seven systems - and this is the minimum. These "patriots" are with the partners," the president noted," Zelenskyy added.

Mass shelling of the Russian Federation on April 27

The increase in the number of shelling and the delay in aid from the US led to the fact that Ukraine faced a lack of air defense. On the night of April 26-27, Russia launched an unusual combined missile attack on Ukraine - they attacked Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk region and Lviv region. The main goal was energy. The Russians attacked both with Daggers and Calibers, and used missiles of the X-101 type. The enemy hit Ukrainian energy facilities.

The enemy was partially successful in Lviv Oblast, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In all three cases, fires broke out after the attack on energy facilities. The biggest fire was in the Ivano-Frankivsk region - it burned on an area of 200 square meters. However, the Ukrainian operational services very quickly subdued the fire. The victims of the attack are only in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The authorities of the Lviv region urgently appealed to the citizens: people are asked not to turn on high-power electrical appliances in the evening hours, so as not to provoke blackouts. In total, the Ukrainian defenders of the sky managed to destroy 21 enemy missiles during this attack. In addition, one of the missiles launched by the occupiers during the massive shelling of Ukraine landed near Poland. The air target fell not far from the border. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that it happened in the Lviv district.
