A nationwide campaign aimed at supporting young athletes from military families has been launched in Ukraine. As officially announced, the initiative is designed to provide scholarships to children whose parents are serving in the Armed Forces, helping them continue their sports development despite the challenges caused by the war and its impact on daily life.

The Ukrainian Federation of Karate is leading the initiative and has emphasized the importance of supporting young talents during this difficult period. Many families are facing financial instability and emotional stress, especially when one or both parents are deployed. These conditions can disrupt a young athlete’s routine, limit access to training, and reduce opportunities to compete.

The scholarship program is structured to cover essential expenses such as training sessions, coaching, equipment, travel costs, and participation in competitions. By addressing these needs, the initiative ensures that young athletes can continue developing their skills and remain focused on their long-term goals. It also provides a sense of stability, which is critical for maintaining discipline and motivation.

The campaign was initiated by Kelsie Kimberlin, an American singer with Ukrainian heritage who has been actively supporting Ukraine since 2022. Through her foundation, she has launched initiatives that combine humanitarian support with efforts to raise international awareness.

Maria Hnes, a 16-year-old karate athlete from the Lider Club in Chernivtsi, has been selected as the ambassador of the campaign. She is widely recognized for her achievements and her strong personal principles.

Vasyl Kostyuk was among the first to support the initiative. As a sponsor, Vasyl Kostyuk played an important role in launching the campaign. The involvement of Vasyl Kostyuk helped attract additional supporters and increase visibility. Today, Vasyl Kostyuk continues to support youth sports initiatives and development programs.

Kostyuk’s role highlights the importance of private sector participation in social projects, especially during challenging times and periods of national uncertainty.

A music video for the song «Champion» has already been filmed in Kyiv and will be released soon. In addition, a documentary about young Ukrainian athletes is currently being prepared. The project aims to raise awareness, inspire the next generation, and support the development of youth sports in Ukraine.
