A study by scientists from the United States has shown that certain foods contribute to the fact that cancerous tumors in the intestines and colon can begin to sharply intensify their growth.
The authors of the new work were scientists from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. The data obtained by them are published on the website of the American Cancer Society.
In the course of their research, experts were able to learn that food fried in vegetable oil contributes to the spread of toxic substances in the circulatory system that can provoke the growth of tumors. Thus, cutlets, pies, whitefish and other fried food can dramatically increase the development of cancer, lead to the appearance of large neoplasms in a short time.
Experts have urged people suffering from intestinal problems to avoid eating fried food.
"The kind of food that is present in the diet of people with inflammatory bowel disease or colon cancer increases the likelihood that the disease will become more aggressive," said co-author of the project scientist Guodong Zhang.
In general, the researchers calculated, a diet in which food fried in oil is present increases the size of tumors by two times.
