For a timely diagnosis of cancer, you need to be able to recognize common symptoms related to all types of oncology, says oncologist Olena Hudkova.

According to the oncologist, many diseases have similar symptoms and the presence of some signs does not mean that a person has cancer. Nevertheless, Olena Hudkova strongly advises to contact specialists if a person has the following symptoms:

• a cough that does not go away for more than two weeks, as well as sputum with blood;
• diarrhea or constipation persist for a long time;
• reduced level of erythrocytes, anemia;
• changes in the state of mammary glands in women;
• frequent urination, which becomes painful, as well as blood in the urine;
• prolonged (more than three weeks) hoarseness of the voice, not related to a cold;
• heartburn that is felt despite taking medication;
• an increase in lymph nodes that does not last more than three weeks;
• difficulty swallowing;
• sudden weight loss, fever and night sweats;
• changes in birthmarks;
• non-healing ulcers on the skin or in the mouth.
