The downsized Pajero was introduced in 1994 and discontinued in 2012. Now he can return, he writes Best Car Website: Mitsubishi hopes that the small SUV can win back some of the audience from the popular Suzuki Jimny. The Japanese are also inspired by the market success of their own Delica Mini. It is expected that the price of the revived Pajero Mini will be 2-2,5 million yen, which is approximately 500-625 thousand hryvnias.

Mitsubishi has long been working on a plan to revive the Pajero Mini, but the project was delayed by the demands of engineers who insisted on a frame structure like the Jimny. However, these requirements are now being relaxed, insiders say.

Probably, the basis of the new Pajero Mini will be the Delica Mini microvan platform, which technically repeats the Mitsubishi eK X Space key car of the 2020 model.

The engine will also be borrowed from the 3,4-meter Delica Mini — a 660-cc turbocharged 3DOHC with a capacity of 52 and 64 horsepower, supplemented by a 2,7-horsepower electric motor. The variator will work together with the engine, the drive will be complete.

The appearance of Pajero Mini, as the publication notes, will be a combination of "futurism and wildness." The revival of the model is possible already next year.

Meanwhile, alliance partner Renault is helping Mitsubishi develop models for Europe. Both will belong to the SUV segment: one will be equipped with an internal combustion engine, and the other will be equipped with a fully electric unit. The technical basis of the novelties will be borrowed from Renault Symbioz and Scenic E-Tech.
