The aggressor country has been illegally detaining a Ukrainian citizen who was kidnapped by the invaders in Kherson for two years.
Kherson activist Irina Horobtsova, after two years of illegal imprisonment in Russia, was accused of allegedly "engaging in espionage". This was announced by the ZMINA Human Rights Center on its Facebook page on Thursday, April 18.
"In 2022, Horobtsova became famous thanks to her patriotic posts on social networks about life under occupation. She did not evacuate from Kherson and helped her fellow citizens who were unable to leave the occupied territories," the message says.
The Russians abducted Horobtsova on her birthday, took her equipment and took her to Simferopol pre-trial detention center No. 2 in Crimea.
The lawyer of the activist noted that the Ukrainian hostage is kept in complete isolation from the outside world.
The Russians initiated criminal proceedings against the woman under the article on espionage.
