The main path to the start of the Third World War remains a direct confrontation between the West and Russia, and this scenario will be more likely if Donald Trump wins the US elections and destabilizes NATO. This opinion was expressed by a senior researcher at the Center for European Reforms, Dr. Luigi Scazzieri.
"A possible conflict between Iran and Israel could turn into a major war conflagration in the Middle East with global consequences. The US will almost certainly be drawn to Israel's side, and other Western countries, including Great Britain, may do the same to a lesser extent," he told Sky News in a commentary, talking about what could be the start of World War III.
According to Scazzieri, the participation of Western countries in such a conflict will be limited, and "it will not be the Third World War." Not least because Russia can afford to support Iran, but China is unlikely to do so.
"The main path to the Third World War scenario remains a direct confrontation between the West and Russia. This scenario will be more likely if Donald Trump wins and destabilizes NATO, tempting Vladimir Putin to attack the Baltic states. A clash with Russia would also be quite likely if Western forces are involved in supporting Ukraine in combat operations on the front line," he stated.
