The International Monetary Fund has improved its forecast for the dollar-hryvnia exchange rate for 2024 - from UAH 41,4 per dollar (in October 2023) to UAH 41 per dollar.
However, already in the IMF's World Economic Outlook for April 2024 predicts gradual growth of the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia over the next five years.
Average annual exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar according to IMF forecasts:
2024 – 41 hryvnias per dollar;
2025 – UAH 45,8;
2026 – UAH 48,6;
2027 – UAH 50,4;
2028 – UAH 52,1;
2029 – 54,1 hryvnias.
Forecast of economic growth and inflation
Also, according to IMF forecasts, the world economy will continue to grow by 3,2% in 2024 and 2025 at the same pace as in 2023.
“Global inflation will decline steadily from 6,8% in 2023 to 5,9% in 2024 and 4,5% in 2025, with advanced economies returning to their inflation targets faster than transition and developing economies ", - think the analysts of the Fund.
Regarding the economy of Ukraine, the IMF expects the country's GDP to grow by 2024% in 3,2, to accelerate to 2025% in 6,5, and to 2026% in 5.
Inflation in Ukraine is forecast at the level of 2024% until the end of 8,5, 2025% in 7, and 2026% in 5,5.
