It took nearly an hour for the Modesto County Police Department in California to capture the emu ostrich. The police department announced this on its social network account.

Law enforcement officers responded to reports of a "roaming emu causing a road hazard" in the city and arrived to find the flightless bird running across a busy freeway.

An hour later, the ostrich was caught and returned to its owner. The bird enclosure has reportedly been fortified to avoid any repeat incidents.
