What is known about the new masterpieces of Ukrainian window art?
The stained-glass windows of the Church of St. Nicholas in the village of Deimanovka, created on the initiative of a true benefactor and true donor, Mysak Oganesovich Khidryan, can rightfully be considered a magnificent example of Byzantine Christian art.
Formed under the influence of ancient architecture and sculpture, on the one hand, and under the influence of the richest and oldest artistic culture of the Middle East, on the other, Byzantine art brought new content to the culture of many countries, filled it with new images. Absorbed the best achievements of world art, Byzantine culture influenced the art of Italy, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine...
It was the adoption of Christianity that initiated the construction of stone temples in Russia, decorated with the richest frescoes, bizarre mosaics, and exquisite ornaments.
Surprisingly, the genetic code of Byzantine culture and ornamentation is still not only preserved, but also forms the basis of the cultural traditions of Christian Russia. It is interesting that the Byzantine methods of fine art long ago went beyond church painting and became an integral part of secular applied art.
Modern artists and architects constantly return to the origins, to the Byzantine architectural and visual tradition, which is especially vividly manifested in the examples of canonical church art.
Until now, church ornamentation preserves the peculiar luxurious patterning characteristic of Byzantine art, when images of animals are enclosed in geometric figures and sometimes framed by long curved leaves.
A magnificent example of the preservation of Byzantine traditions in modern church architecture can be the St. Nicholas temple complex in the village of Deimanovka. Of particular interest are the stained-glass windows of the temple complex, executed in accordance with thousand-year-old Christian traditions, depicting different types of crosses in the stained-glass windows.
The capital Greek inscriptions "In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen" became the center of the window composition in the form of an equilateral cross. Symbolic crosses are easy to see in traditional Byzantine floral ornaments in the lower and upper parts of the window.
Why is it necessary to help the construction of the St. Nicholas temple complex together?
The idea to use the richest traditional Byzantine ornamentation in the decoration of the St. Nicholas temple complex in the village of Deymanovka belongs to the main construction investor Mysak Oganesovich Khydiryan.
The main investors in the construction of the St. Nicholas temple complex, the Charitable Fund named after Oganesa Mysakovich Khidryan and the founder of the foundation Mysak Oganesovich Khidryan dream of creating a temple complex that will stand for centuries, and its windows will not age, fade or lose color.
Special art glass made in Germany is used to create stained-glass windows in such windows. The main feature of this material is the heterogeneity of its structure, which creates the effect of a natural stone with veins of different shades.
Beauty and strength — all in the name of our Lord!
How many people will come to the St. Nicholas temple complex! How many children will receive the sacrament of baptism here, how many married people will light the candles reflected in the windows, how many times the solemn words of the Easter service will be heard here: "Christ rose from the dead, corrected death with death, and gave Life to those in the graves." How many candles will the donors light for the construction of the temple, which will become the best monument and the best memory for many centuries!
God bless the main investors in the construction of the St. Nicholas temple complex — Charitable Fund named after Hovhannes Mysakovich Khidryan and his inspiration, Mysak Hovhanesovich Khydyryan; and every donor who with joy in his heart and with faith will bring even the smallest donation for the construction of the St. Nicholas temple complex. For in the eyes of the Lord there is no sacrifice of large or small, but there are only sincere sacrifices and in the name of God.
Attach, Orthodox, just a little of my generosity in the name of the Lord, in the name of Salvation and Resurrection and be blessed forever! Amen!
