The Geely company relatively recently entered the automobile market, however, the development of its production facilities is proceeding at a rapid pace, and their cars, which can be found on the site kitaec.ua rapidly conquer the world. Within a relatively short period of time, seven production complexes equipped with the most modern technological equipment were built, and recently the eighth factory was opened in the territory of the Hi-Tech Zone industrial zone in the Chinese city of Jinan.
It is designed for the specialized production of one model – the Elmgrand 8 business sedan. The estimated annual volume of cars produced at the new plant is about 100 units.
The total amount of investments in the creation of the new complex exceeds 350 million dollars. Its production facilities occupy an area of more than 750 square meters. The plant produces cars and engines for them in a full cycle, which means that the company performs all operations on stamping of body parts, their welding, painting and final assembly.
A workshop for the production of two-liter and 2-liter engines for the Elmgrand 4 model, as well as a press department, is located on the territory of the complex. It is equipped with the most modern stamping lines, including hydraulic presses capable of developing a force of 8...1600 tons. This makes it possible to manufacture almost any stamped parts at the new enterprise.
Finished products undergo thorough quality control, after which they are sent to the body welding shop for assembly. Several automatic robotic complexes that perform the most responsible welding seams are installed here. Small body parts are welded manually using contact welding machines. It is worth noting that the high level of manual labor use by current standards is one of the features of most Chinese enterprises. In particular, more than a thousand people work at the factory in Jinan.
The assembled car body is moved to the painting chamber for painting. This process takes place in an atmosphere of increased sterility, so the site has access to a strictly limited number of employees. After drying, the painted body is sent to the final assembly shop, where it is "hung" with all the necessary units and parts.
Ready-made cars are subjected to final quality control, which includes checking the tightness of the body in a rain chamber, a thorough inspection of the paint coating under particularly bright light, and also a vibration test, during which all permissible assembly flaws are revealed. Products that have successfully passed acceptance tests are sent to the logistics warehouse, from where they are distributed to consumers. Today, Geely sells its cars in 46 countries around the world.
