At the same time, it is important to remember that it is not easy buy an irrigation pump, and choose equipment that should perfectly cope with its main functional task, and not just be a beautiful decoration of the site.
Surface pump.
The selection of the pump should also be based on the individual features of the site and the already organized irrigation scheme. For example, if the water in the country plot is located at a depth of no more than 7 meters or is taken from a special tank on the surface, then the most ideal option would be a surface pump. The only limitation: the water passing through the pump must be clean.
Such pumps, in turn, are divided into self-priming and stations. The latter differ mainly only in their automation: the principle of operation, other things being equal, remains the same. The main advantage of the pumping station is the ability to regulate the water supply, stop it as necessary without pulling the plug from the outlet. There is also a manual irrigation system, when a person can walk with the discharge part in his hands and supply water at will. The presence of these functions increases the cost, but makes life easier.
Submersible pump.
If the water supply is carried out from a greater depth, then submersible pumps should be chosen. Well pumps cope well with irrigation: they maintain a powerful pressure and quickly pump water.
Drainage pump.
If there are no sources of clean water on the site, then you should look for a drainage pump that will carry out preliminary cleaning of the liquid. This means that clean water will be supplied, but the filters should be changed periodically. In addition, due to the additional cleaning process, the water will flow more slowly, so it is better to choose the most powerful of the available drainage pumps.
When buying, pay attention to the presence of a non-return valve. When it is included in the original product package, the price will be more realistic. In the absence of it, the valve will still have to be purchased, since without it, water intake cannot be carried out.
It is important to check the tightness of the device, if not in the store, then with the saved receipt at the time of first use. Air must not enter the system! Even a small amount of it can prevent the pump from starting.
