Repair of the refrigerator: we are refueling

Sometimes old refrigerators break. And instead of taking a new and not always reliable new refrigerator at a high cost, it is better to repair the old one and buy it door seal price and replace freon. It will be cheaper and more reliable.

Cracking of copper pipes is often considered a failure. It is very easy to detect a leak - you need to carefully look at the floor, on which a puddle of Freon oil, which is considered a component of R12 freon, often forms. If the defect is not found, the entire condenser with the evaporator is removed and placed in a bath filled with water. And then the master turns on the native compressor. Air bubbles appearing from the tube will indicate the place of cracking.

Everything else is considered an easy matter - the master seals the crack with acetylene welding, cuts off the old filter, installs a new one and doesn't forget freon 410 to buy, pumps a certain volume of R12 refrigerant inside, then installs an electronic thermometer in the freezer. As soon as the temperature in the freezer reaches the declared value and the thermostat is activated, the repair of the refrigerator is considered a completed matter.

Everything gets complicated if the refrigeration system runs on isobutane (R600a), which is a priori considered a volatile natural gas. Ego must be pumped into the refrigeration system exactly as much as required. The label inside the refrigerator case tells the master about this. Often, no more than 90 grams of ego is required for a two-chamber refrigerator, and if the master, having sufficient qualifications and electronic scales, does everything correctly, then the refrigerator will again be able to cool products down to minus 18 degrees. At the same time, a special synthetic freon with oil based on synthetics is required.

The disadvantage of modern refrigerators is aluminum tubes, which are not even soldered at the factory, but crimped. In this case, if a leak is detected in the aluminum tubes, the entire refrigerator is taken to the workshop, where the craftsmen, using argon welding, reliably seal the crack and inject the required type of refrigerant inside. Such work costs more money, but if everything is done correctly, the unit will work for more than a dozen years.

Paying attention to the above works, you must always remember one thing - the masters give a guarantee only for their work. If something else breaks down in the unit - the thermostat or evaporator fails - then everything will be repaired at a separate rate.
