Interior of a children's room: lighting

32

The lighting in the nursery must be thought through with special care so that the child is always in a cheerful mood, so that his eyes do not get tired, so that staying in the room in the evening brings only joy.

It is necessary to start with the planning of the combination of natural and artificial lighting. Natural light from the window should be used to the maximum, he says Source. If the child already has a desk, place it as close to the window as possible. If the child is still very small, place a play area near the window. It is not necessary to put a crib in the window - hardly anyone likes to wake up to the fact that the sun shines directly in their eyes.

Next, you need to take care of the general lighting of the room. The light from the chandelier should reach every corner of the room, but it should not be directed, but scattered. It is not necessary to buy colored light bulbs, it is better to get as close as possible to the natural street world. Also, do not try to screw in as many watts as possible into the general lighting - it is better to use additional, point sources of light to illuminate specific areas. Remember about safety - you don't need to choose bulky chandeliers that a child can accidentally break with a ball or other toy. A good option is light bulbs built into the suspended ceiling around the entire perimeter of the room.

When choosing spot lighting, the main thing is moderation. If the light is too bright, the sharp boundaries of the light and shadows will tire the child's vision. If there is not enough light, you will get the same effect: rapid fatigue. The optimal light will be considered when the transition from the zone of spot lighting to the zone of general lighting is diffuse, without rigid lines and borders.

There are also many individual cases when you don't need to be guided by general advice, but rather proceed from your specific situation. For example, if two children with different daily routines live in the room at the same time. It's time for someone to sleep, and someone still wants to read a book. Then the point illumination essentially becomes dominant. It is necessary that the reading lamp does not intersect with the sleeping area.

Please note that the arrangement of point light sources can shape the child's habits. If there is only one lamp near the bed in the room, do not be surprised why the child does not read in the chair or at the desk.

And a few more words about safety. In the reach of the child, there should be no lamps that are easily unscrewed, that heat up during operation and can burn the child if accidentally touched, the wires from the lamps should not stick out. The table lamp must be attached to the table or shelf with brackets - in other cases, it is too easy to turn over due to carelessness.
