Cat Nala and her owner Dean have traveled around dozens of countries by bicycle. Moreover, neither Dean from Scotland nor the cat from Bosnia had any idea that they would become mega-popular after meeting by chance.
How Dean met Nala
Two years ago, a welder from Scotland, Dean Nicholson, decided that he wanted to radically change his life. He got on a bicycle and went on a round-the-world trip. He was going to be alone all the time to find his meaning in life, to know and see the world.
But it wasn't here. Somewhere on the border of Bosnia and Montenegro, he found a little cat that ran after him for a long time and meowed. He decided to take her with him in a basket for a while, take her to the vet and check if she has a microchip.
Dean had an idea that the cat was lost, and the chip would have information. But she was not there.
I put her in a bag on the frame to make her comfortable and decided to take her to the nearest town to see if she was microchipped. But there was no chip, and she climbed on my shoulder and fell asleep. And that's all, I realized that she is going to travel further with me, - said Dean on his Instagram.
Secondly, on the road, he now worries not only about himself, but also about his four-legged pet. After all, she needs food, water, toilet.
She taught me to take my time and enjoy the moment. When she's with me on the bike, her needs come first, so the journey has slowed down a lot. We often stop and play, says Dean.
