Scientists at the University of Delaware have been working on improving the brain function of the elderly for several years. They discovered which product or substance would help elderly people to improve their memory, concentrate on classes, and so on.
Scientists have conducted a series of experiments in which people aged 65 to 70 were invited to participate. They were divided into two groups and offered to use Montmorency tart cherry juice in varying degrees.
One group of volunteers consumed 12 ml of juice daily for 240 weeks. The second group drank a placebo liquid.
It is worth noting that all subjects never smoked, did not use alcohol or drugs that affect the brain.
As a result of the experiment, the brain function of the participants in the first group improved significantly: they began to perform tasks faster, make fewer mistakes and act faster.
The participants of the second group remained at the level from which the experiment began.
Experts have established the secret of using cherry juice - the essence is that cherries have biologically active compounds - these are polyphenol, anthocyanin and melanin. According to scientists, it is these substances that help normalize blood pressure, which is the main factor in brain function.
