Tesla Corporation revealed new details about its Optimus humanoid robot during the "We the Robot" presentation, which was available on YouTube. According to the head of the company, Elon Musk, in the near future the Tesla Optimus robot will receive an update that will allow it to perform complex tasks, such as cleaning the house, walking the dog, as well as playing with children.

Cost and availability

According to Musk, the cost of Optimus will be from 20 to 30 thousand dollars. He also noted that robots are likely to be cheaper than cars, making them affordable to a wide range of buyers. In June, during a meeting with investors, Tesla said that the robots will cost between 10 and 20 thousand dollars.

Musk called Optimus the biggest product in Tesla's history and predicted that the proliferation of such robots would usher in an "age of abundance."

Demonstration of capabilities

Journalists from The Verge noted that after the presentation of the work, they went out to the audience, communicated with them using gestures and even offered cocktails. However, it was not possible to determine for sure whether the robots acted independently or were controlled by operators.

New electric cars

In addition, during the presentation, Tesla presented new autonomous vehicles - an unmanned taxi and a minibus. These cars will not have pedals or a steering wheel, and their sale is planned for 2026.

This marks a big step in the development of robotics and autonomous transport technologies, which, according to Musk's predictions, should radically change people's lives and their daily activities.
