An official from southwestern China sentenced to 13 years in prison and a fine of one million yuan - 140 thousand dollars – for misconduct, including sexual relations with 58 subordinates and receiving nearly $8,5 million in bribes. Zhong previously served as governor and deputy party secretary of Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province.

The woman was known for her impressive appearance, during her time in power she was even nicknamed the "beautiful governor". However, she has never been married and has no children. Official had numerous lovers among subordinates. Some of the men agreed to it because of the privileges offered to Zhong, some - because of fear of her authority and power. The governor spent time with her lovers under the pretext of "overtime work" and "business trips".

At the same time, the woman grew up in a modest family, studied history at the university and joined the Communist Party of China at the age of 22, later rising to the rank of deputy of the National People's Congress. She gained recognition thanks to the establishment of a fruit and agricultural association aimed at helping farmers, and donated money to charity. 

However, a January documentary produced by Guizhou Radio and Television revealed troubling aspects of her career. Reports suggest that Zhong took bribes and used her position, to ensure that privileged companies receive profitable contracts under the pretext of public investment. September 1 of this year expelled from the Chinese Communist Party and removed from public office.
