Everything happens in the wild, both good and bad. Life often throws up surprises for everyone, some of them not very pleasant. Pip the otter was born in one of the British zoos, the last and smallest of the genus. But her troubles did not end there: Pip was abandoned by her own mother. Workers spread their hands: the chances that the girl will survive are zero.

But she survived. Not "in spite of", but "thanks to" the patience, love and round-the-clock care of one of the zoo employees. She took the poor man to her home, found the strength to drink warm milk from a bottle every two hours. Day or night, she was always there.

That's how time passed - as you understand, not a day or two. Spent efforts paid off: Pip grew and became stronger, turning into a real beauty. But with growing up, another problem appeared: otters are very social animals, they vitally need communication with their own kind. Pip reached out to her mother, brothers and sisters, but they resolutely threw her out of their lives. Yes, our world is full of cruelty and injustice. The only one who gave Pip love and care was her human "mother".

But it is not for nothing that the people say that there would be no happiness, but unhappiness helped. Rather, help came from an unexpected place, from the pets of a dog and a cat. The Bengal cat Sam, who acted as a companion, friend and mentor for the little otter, was especially successful in the pedagogical field. These two soon became inseparable friends and a real "sweet couple".

Pip finally has the "complete" family she deserves.
