Volkswagen has revealed the style of its future crossovers

On the eve of the opening of the Beijing Auto Show, Volkswagen declassified its main premiere - the ID crossover. Code. So far, this is only a concept, but it demonstrates the brand's new corporate style for future production models of the brand.

Of course, Volkswagen ID. The Code is an electric car, although the company has not disclosed details about the powertrain. In terms of exterior design, there is nothing outstanding, but if you compare it with the current serial "electric cars" of the ID family, the concept car has a rather impressive appearance. Among the features are optics designed in the form of narrow strips, coupe-like muscular silhouette and 24-inch wheels. Instead of the usual mirrors, there are cameras, and the function of door handles is performed by small touch panels. The back door opens against the flow.

The main lighting technique consists of elements called Light Cloud and 3D Eyes. The first is horizontal tiles separated by an emblem; the stripes can change color depending on the road situation and driving style. The "eyes" are located on top of the dies, they are able to monitor a person approaching the car, and if the crossover recognizes its owner, the electronics will activate one of the greeting scenarios.

Another feature of Volkswagen ID. Code is a "smart" side glass. In fact, these are screens: they display information about the weather, charge level or reminders (for example, about future maintenance). In addition, a virtual assistant can appear on the glass, which will easily chat with the owner of the crossover.

In the four-seater cabin, a single screen is installed across the entire width of the front panel, another display - vertical - is attached to the console, which is located between the seats. Volkswagen ID. Code provides for the presence of a fourth-level autopilot: when it is activated, the steering wheel hides, and the front seats can be turned to face the rear passengers. By the way, when autopilot is turned on, oncoming traffic and pedestrians will be notified by the above mentioned 3D Eyes.

Finally, the "hygiene" mode is provided for the SUV. It can be started when no one is inside: the air is purified by ultraviolet and antibacterial filters, plus a compact robot vacuum cleaner can run through the interior.
