For normal well-being, a person needs to sleep at least seven hours a day. However, every third person does not follow this rule. A new study has shown that just one night, when a person slept little, is enough for changes on the physical and mental levels.

The researchers studied how sleeping less than six hours affects well-being, and whether the negative effect accumulates if you follow this regime for several days.

In total, about 2 people were interviewed. "The analysis showed that lack of sleep during one night already leads to deterioration of well-being, reduction of both physical and mental abilities. If the violation of the regime continues, these effects intensify," the message reads.

The participants of the study said that they felt the worst after six consecutive days of lack of sleep. This is explained by incomplete recovery of strength and accumulation of stress. Physically, this condition can be manifested by body pain, gastrointestinal disorders, and respiratory symptoms such as sore throat and runny nose.
