Ukrainians began to conclude contracts for the purchase and sale of cars 6 times more often

In April, there was a noticeable spike in vehicle registration activity at service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reports Ukravtoprom with reference to data from the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The demand for re-registration under contracts of sale and gift has increased significantly. Since the beginning of the month, 110 applications for re-registration of sales contracts have been submitted, which is significantly more than in the same period of March (997 applications).

In addition, the number of re-registrations of vehicles on the basis of donation contracts has increased significantly recently. Only in the first three weeks of April, 2564 such transactions were registered, which is almost six times more than in the corresponding period of March.

It is worth noting that according to the new law on mobilization for the needs of the Armed Forces, vehicles can be seized from individuals in Ukraine who own more than one vehicle.

Regarding the withdrawal of vehicles for military needs, on April 16, 2024, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy ratified the law on mobilization. One of the key provisions of this law concerns the requisition of cars from citizens for the needs of the Armed Forces.

During mobilization, citizens of Ukraine are obliged to provide buildings, structures, vehicles and other property to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, with subsequent reimbursement of incurred expenses. This measure will affect only those Ukrainians who own more than one vehicle.
