Currently, the North Atlantic Alliance does not plan to expand the Nuclear Sharing program, which provides for the transfer of nuclear warheads to NATO member states.

This was stated by the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg during a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak. He was asked whether NATO countries are negotiating to expand the nuclear weapons exchange program.

"No, there are no plans to expand NATO's nuclear weapons sharing arrangements, there are no plans to place any nuclear weapons in any additional NATO countries," Stoltenberg replied.

What is known about the Nuclear Sharing program:

This concept enables NATO member states that do not have their own nuclear weapons to participate in planning their use and delivery.

Within the framework of the joint use of nuclear weapons, participating countries consult and make joint decisions on nuclear weapons policy, maintain technical equipment (in particular, aircraft with nuclear warheads) necessary for the use of nuclear weapons, and store it on their territory.
