Approval of aid to Ukraine: the US has said how long it will be able to provide support

On April 24, the US Congress approved an aid package for Ukraine, the document was already signed by US President Joe Biden. Now the administration has resources for further support of our country.

With the aid approved, the US now has enough resources to support Ukraine throughout 2024. This was stated by the US President's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.


"I really expect that with the amount of resources we have now, we can continue to provide Ukraine with what it needs through 2024," he said during the briefing.

Aid to Ukraine from the USA: it is worth knowing

On April 20, the US House of Representatives, after a delay of several months, approved a bill on support for Ukraine, which provides for the spending of the US budget at the level of 60,84 billion dollars.



The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, emphasized that these funds will be distributed in several directions. Thus, $49,9 billion will be directed to defense expenditures, $7,8 billion is potential budget support, and $1,57 billion is economic aid. Another 400 million dollars – funds for border protection and humanitarian demining.

Already on the night of April 24, it was approved in the US Senate, together with several other documents on the support of foreign countries. The package was later signed by US President Joe Biden.



On the same day, the USA announced the allocation of a new aid package to Ukraine in the total amount of 1 billion dollars. It will include the weapons needed by the Ukrainian troops. In particular, ammunition for HIMARS, RIM-7 and AIM-9M missiles for air defense systems, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, 155 mm artillery shells will be transferred.
