In 2017, Kayla Harvey from the state of Kansas was unable to go to work due to a chronic illness and was forced to stay at home. Out of boredom, the girl decided to get a puppy and, after looking at several small representatives of different breeds, settled on an Italian greyhound, buying an eight-week-old puppy.
Kayla named the dog Penelope.
Due to the peculiarities of the breed, Penelope grew up as a rather slender and long-necked girl with a narrow head, reminding Kylie of a goose. That is why the addition to the nickname - Goose - was quickly attached to the dog.
The hostess was moved by Penelope's activity and her penchant for pranks, taking pictures of her pet almost every day and posting pictures for friends on Facebook. The beautiful girl quickly began to attract the attention of strangers, despite the fact that she did not look like a soft toy.
Then Harvey decided to start her personal page on Instagram. This is where Penelope revealed her true talent.
The dog learned to copy human emotions and began to smile. If at first something resembling a smile really appeared in her face, then the Goose began to overplay it.
In some cases, her smile began to resemble a frightening grin.
And in others, Penelope herself became like a vampire dog.
The unusual appearance brought Penelope almost 90 thousand followers, and with each passing day their number is growing.
"I think that people like Penelope because she is very unusual and expressive, her facial expressions are almost human. In general, I perceive her as an animal with a unique appearance," said the owner of the smiling dog.
Kayla claims that Penelope likes to make people laugh and tries to smile on purpose.
