Russia reacted to the statement of Polish President Andrzej Duda that the country is ready to deploy nuclear weapons from the USA. The aggressor country hastened to declare that these objects will allegedly become "legitimate targets".

This was said by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Serhiy Ryabkov, rosZMI reports. According to him, the deployment of nuclear weapons will not protect Poland from attack.

"All those politicians who, for their own reasons, are now carefully discussing such a scheme in Poland and abroad should understand: a shift in this direction will not increase Poland's security, but the relevant objects will definitely become a target. And in our military planning, they will be at the forefront." Ryabkov said.

Russia also called the expansion of NATO's nuclear mission a "destabilizing and threatening" factor. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphasized that the approach of NATO's nuclear weapons to Russia's borders only "exacerbates the threat."

We will remind that Andrzej Duda expressed Poland's readiness to deploy nuclear weapons on the country's territory. This has long been a topic of Polish-American negotiations and, according to him, will secure NATO's eastern flank. However, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk did not support his president.

At the same time, NATO said that the Alliance has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons in Poland. The head of NATO emphasized that the bloc does not seek a conflict with Russia.
