A recipe for a delicious paska with candied fruit for Easter

Rub yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar in warm milk and leave for 10-15 minutes until foam appears. In a large bowl, mix the flour with the remaining sugar, salt and lemon zest. Add melted butter and eggs, mix well. Add diluted yeast and milk to the flour and knead a soft dough.





Add the candied fruit and vanilla extract (optional) and continue mixing until the candied fruit is evenly distributed throughout the batter. Cover the bowl with the dough with cheesecloth or a napkin and leave it for 1-1,5 hours for the dough to rise and double in size. Transfer the dough to a wooden board, divide it into two parts and form balls. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Put the dough balls in the molds for strips or just on the baking plate.
