The French brand Citroen presented the C3 Aircross model for sale in EU countries. This is a new generation car. Compared to the previous generation, it has become larger in size. And so much so that the manufacturer also promised three-row modifications.
However, you need to understand that such a fairly compact crossover will not have a full-fledged "gallery". Only children of preschool age will be able to comfortably stay there.
The manufacturer promised that the new crossover will be offered in both hybrid and electric versions. But there are no details about the volume and power of the engines yet.
The presented Citroen C3 Aircross for Europe is made according to the canons of the corporate style of the French brand. But above all, the designers focused on the C3 hatchback and Aircross for India and Brazil.
We will remind that the latter was introduced a year ago and has been sold in these countries for a long time. This Citroen C3 Aircross looks a little different. The manufacturer tried to simplify and reduce the price of the model as much as possible. Therefore, there are no hybrids or electric cars in the lineup.
And in terms of the number of options, the Indian-Brazilian version is far inferior to its European "brother". The engines there are traditional - internal combustion, without any hybrid technologies.
For India, the crossover is offered only with a 1,2 liter 110 hp engine. But Brazil already has liter engines. But they can work not only on gasoline, but also on ethanol (alcohol). The power of the power units is 125 and 130 "horses", respectively.
Gearboxes in the Citroen C3 Aircross for India and Brazil are offered to choose from. There is a manual transmission, an automatic transmission and a variator.
The European crossover is based on the same platform - CMP, common to a number of models from the Stellantis corporation. But the "cart" has been refined, because drivers from EU countries are more demanding. They will not tolerate inconvenience even for the sake of reducing the cost of cars.
In terms of length, the Citroen C3 Aircross was slightly larger than its Indian-Brazilian "brother" - 4,39 against 4,32 meters. Most likely, they achieved this at the expense of new bumpers. Although, it is not a fact, especially since the manufacturer keeps the main characteristics a secret and does not want to show the interior of the crossover in its entirety.
As for the engine range, there are no details on it yet. But, knowing the love of the Stellantis concern for unification, we can say with almost 100% certainty that it will be similar to the single-platform Opel Frontera.
Basic crossovers, respectively, will receive 1,2-liter turbo engines with a capacity of 136 hp. They will work in tandem with a hybrid "add-on" in the form of a starter-generator.
Electric Citroen C3 Aircross will most likely get 136 and 156 hp engines. Range on one charge is promised from 300 to 400 km.
The drive in all crossovers, regardless of modification, is only front. Prices for the model have not yet been disclosed.
