Two of the four horses that escaped were operated on. According to the British military, the other animals are fine and will return to duty.

Two horses, one of which was covered in blood, raced through the center of London, which scared onlookers, reports ABC News. According to the British Army, the mounts were among 150 horses of the Household Cavalry, the ceremonial guard of the British monarch, who undergo training in the city every morning.

According to the police, seven horses were frightened by the noise of construction work at Buckingham Palace, and four of them ran away. They ran after building materials fell next to them. Three animals threw off the cavalrymen. The soldiers were examined by medics, and after full recovery they will return to the formation.

"We want to thank everyone who showed such kindness and care towards our soldiers and horses. We will provide additional information soon," the army representatives said.

Later it turned out that people reacted very alarmingly to a seemingly ordinary event, seeing bad omens in what happened. Not only was the black and white bloodstained horse racing without a rider, but the clock on the Elizabeth Tower, better known as Big Ben, stopped at 9:00. However, thanks to the work of the engineers, already at 10:15 in the morning it showed the correct time and rang as it should.
