Both models of C-segment crossovers have recently been updated, so it is worth comparing the Nissan Qashqai and the Hyundai Tucson.

Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson are among the most popular and best-selling C-segment crossovers. The two models, recently updated inside and out, are poised to continue competing for buyers for years to come with new equipment and a wide range of engines. The Qashqai is 4,43 meters long, while the Tucson is 4,50 meters long. Nissan has a height of 1,62 meters, Hyundai even 1,65 meters. This means that the Korean has a slight size advantage over the Japanese.

The two crossovers have been fundamentally revised, especially from an aesthetic point of view. The Nissan Qashqai has a new face with slimmer LED headlights and a large grille with the Nissan logo in the center. Hyundai Tucson has simplified headlights with fewer lighting elements, and the overall grille has remained unchanged.

Both models are equipped with new light-alloy wheels, and the main changes can be found at the rear of the Qashqai. Here, the rear lights have a different, more complex shape and graphics, while Hyundai's intervention was more conservative. The overall look here remains modern, and the taillights are connected in the middle by an LED strip.

Interior

There are two different philosophies in the cabin. The interior of the Nissan Qashqai is more traditional, while the Hyundai Tucson focuses on technological sophistication. On the digital side, Nissan boasts a 12,3-inch infotainment screen (which integrates Google services such as Maps and Assistant) and a separate instrument panel. 

It's the opposite in the Tucson, which borrows the design of Hyundai's latest electric models and combines two 12,3-inch screens into one panel.

Inserts and panels have become even more valuable in the updated form, while the seats and door panels can still be covered in leather in different colors. The choice of air vents and gear levers is different, with the Nissan having a classic design and positioning, while the Hyundai air vents are centrally located and well integrated into the instrument panel. The gearshift lever is also located behind the steering wheel.

When it comes to cargo capacity, the Tucson takes full advantage of the size advantage over the Qashqai. While the Nissan has a trunk volume of no less than 504 liters, the Hyundai has 616 liters in the full hybrid version.

2024 Nissan Qashqai

The Qashqai is available in mild and full hybrid versions, both with petrol engines. In the first case, the 1.3 DIG-T can be ordered in 140 or 158 hp versions. with front or all-wheel drive, while the E-Power is front-wheel drive only and produces 190 hp. The latest Nissan has a rather unusual way of working: the 1,5-liter four-cylinder engine acts as a generator for the electric motor, which then drives the wheels. 

 

2025 Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson line is one of the widest in terms of power units, almost all levels of electrification are available. The portfolio starts with a non-electrified 1,6-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 150 hp. Then there are mild hybrid gasoline and diesel engines with a capacity of 150 or 136 hp. There are also full hybrid gasoline engines with a capacity of 230 hp. (optionally with all-wheel drive) and plug-in hybrid (only all-wheel drive) with a capacity of 265 hp.

2024 Nissan Qashqai

Prices for the restyling have not yet been announced, but it is likely that they will not differ much from the previous models. The price of the Qashqai currently starts at 29 euros for a gasoline mild hybrid with a capacity of 440 hp.  

The Tucson version with a capacity of 150 hp. currently available from €33. In the "Select" configuration with a 440-speed manual transmission. Prices can easily exceed €6 depending on engine and special requests. 

 

2024 Hyundai Tucson

In Ukraine, currently the cheapest Qashqai configuration is the Accenta version (1,5 MHEV, 158 hp, Xtronoc, 2WD, which costs UAH 1 (or EUR 100). And Hyundai Tucson prices start at UAH 030 (25 988 euros) for the Dynamic Plus configuration (1 MPi, 115 hp, 400AT, 26WD). Updated versions of crossovers for the Ukrainian market have not yet been presented.
