As part of a recent update, Mitsubishi released the ASX, which became a complete copy of the Renault Captur. Because of this, the Japanese model received a lot of critical feedback. But now the manufacturer has decided to abandon blind copying. The updated 2024 Mitsubishi ASX is at least not outwardly similar to the Captur. However, the similarity can be traced in the technical part.

The Japanese novelty is standardly equipped with a one-liter turbo engine, the maximum output of which does not exceed 91 hp. Only a 6-speed manual gearbox is combined with it. In the next version, a 1,3-liter turbo engine appears, which is part of the "soft" hybrid. Depending on the modification, this unit produces up to 140 or 158 hp. The initial version of the 1,3-liter turbo engine is combined with "mechanics", when the most powerful - with a 7-speed "automatic".
The Japanese model has kept compact dimensions. But now it has a more aggressive appearance, which is largely due to the non-standard pattern of the radiator grille and a large trapezoidal air intake. The crossover acquired new front optics and rear C-shaped LED lights.
A 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 10,4-inch touchscreen are now offered as standard with the ASX. Depending on the configuration, the crossover is equipped with intelligent cruise control, lane keeping assistant with speed control and other options.
