Oleksandr Lukashenko regularly voices the Kremlin's "wishes" for negotiations with Ukraine

Oleksandr Lukashenko believes that Volodymyr Zelenskyi's peace formula is a "radical solution", which is patriotic, but "not real".

A stalemate has developed at the front in Ukraine. Therefore, the West and Russia need to play a draw. This point of view was voiced by the formal leader of Belarus Oleksandr Lukashenko, his press service reported on Thursday, April 25.

"A kind of zugzwang has formed - neither they, the Ukrainians, nor the Russians... Yes, there is a movement, but not the movement we would like. A stalemate. What should be done in this situation?" he said.

Lukashenko dragged out the "old song" about a seemingly convenient situation for peace negotiations.

"It would be possible to start with the Istanbul agreements. This does not mean that as a result of the negotiations, these initialed agreements will be adopted or set as the basis of a peace treaty. No. But you can start from them and move forward. Of course, the peace treaty will not be a copy of these agreements. The peace treaty will be different, but we can start from this," the Belarusian leader believes.

He believes that Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Peace Formula is a "radical solution" that is patriotic, but "not realistic."

"All the military, heads of the West's special services, politicians and heads of state are already publicly speaking about the fact that Putin's victory cannot be allowed. If you insist that it is not possible, then this is the moment for negotiations. Play for a draw at this stage," Lukashenko suggested and threatened that if there are no negotiations, then "Ukraine will eventually lose its statehood and may cease to exist."
