Lamborghini presented the first hybrid crossover in its history. The novelty is called Urus SE.
The power plant of the Lamborghini Urus SE includes a V8 4.0 engine and an electric motor built into the gearbox. The peak performance of the hybrid is 800 hp. and 950 Nm of torque, i.e. even more than in the Urus Performante version.
However, such a significant increase had practically no effect on the dynamics. The hybrid Urus SE is only 0,1 seconds faster than the Urus S in acceleration to "hundreds" (3,4 c instead of 3,5 s) and 1,3 seconds faster when accelerating from zero to 200 km/h (11,2 s versus 12,5 s). The maximum speed is 312 km/h, while in the Urus S the limiter is activated at 305 km/h. Instead, the hybrid emits 80 percent less harmful substances into the air and can travel about 60 kilometers without starting the diesel engine. The traction battery is located in the trunk compartment and has a capacity of 25,9 kWh.
The Urus SE power plant can work in 11 modes - this number is obtained by combining six regular profiles and four so-called Electric Performance Strategies (strategies of electric performance): EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Recharge. The ground clearance, which is adjustable in the range of 15-75 mm, depends on the choice of mode. Of course, all the mechatronics on the Urus SE have been recalibrated, and the difference between the presets has been made more obvious.
It is not surprising that the hybrid superstructure required a radical revision of aerodynamics. The Urus SE has a 15 percent improvement in engine compartment cooling, and the rear spoiler and diffuser at high speeds generate 35 percent more downforce than the Urus S.
