Coffee is known to boost metabolism, helping you burn more calories. However, such an effect can be obtained only when using a certain type of drink.
As nutritionist Donald Mankey explained, coffee does have the ability to stimulate metabolism. According to him, black coffee is considered the best assistant in this matter.
Mankey added that such a drink "contains only two calories per serving" and is also high in vitamin B12 and magnesium, which some experts believe help the body turn food into energy. "But of course, the more sugar, cream or milk you add, the more calories you'll get," Menkey noted.
Some metabolism-boosting diets include black or green coffee as the only beverages other than water that can be consumed between meals. It has been proven that coffee suppresses appetite and preserves energy, even when it comes in little from food.
