The new model was named Urus SE. It differs from the usual Urus not only in design, but also in the power plant, which includes a V8 4.0 engine and an electric motor built into the transmission. The Urus SE has a peak power of 800 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque, which is more than the Urus Performante. However, the hybrid is inferior in acceleration to hundreds: 3,4 seconds against 3,3. But the maximum speed is higher - 312 kilometers per hour.


On the eve of Auto China Beijing 2024, the Volkswagen Group held a special event for the press, where it showed its main novelty - the hybrid Lamborghini Urus SE. It is easy to distinguish from the Urus S and Urus Performante, although the engine here is the same - a 4.0 "biturbo eight", tuned to give 620 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is assisted by an electric motor (192 hp, 483 Nm) integrated into the eight-range automatic transmission, so the combined output reaches 800 forces and 950 Nm.

However, such a significant increase practically did not affect the dynamics. The hybrid Urus SE is only 0,1 seconds faster than the Urus S (3,4 c instead of 3,5) in acceleration to a hundred and by 1,3 seconds - during acceleration from zero to 200 kilometers per hour (11,2 s against 12,5). The maximum speed is 312 kilometers per hour, while in the Urus S the limiter is activated at 305. But the hybrid emits 80 percent less harmful substances into the air and can travel about 60 kilometers without starting the diesel engine. The traction battery is located in the trunk and has a capacity of 25,9 kilowatt-hours.



The Urus SE power plant can work in 11 modes - this number is obtained by combining six regular profiles and four so-called Electric Performance Strategies (strategies of electric performance): EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Recharge. The ground clearance, which is adjustable in the range of 15-75 millimeters, depends on the choice of mode. Of course, all mechatronics on the Urus SE have been recalibrated taking into account the new introductory ones, and the difference between the presets has been made more obvious.

It is not surprising that the hybrid superstructure required a radical revision of aerodynamics. The Urus SE has 15 percent better cooling of the engine compartment, and the rear spoiler and diffuser at high speeds generate 35 percent more downforce than the Urus S. Both the exterior and interior are designed with Revuelto in mind, but are not direct borrowings, but rather stylistic concepts. By the way, the headlights in the Urus SE are also new, with matrix high beam and running lights in the form of a bull's tail on the brand logo.
