Special equipment for Ukrainian units of the State Emergency Service is on its way from the British county of Kent to Ukraine. This is the largest convoy of fire and rescue equipment, which consists of more than three dozen vehicles of various purposes.
The convoy left on April 23 and is heading to the Polish-Ukrainian border. The equipment will be directed to the most hot spots, where intense shelling is being conducted by the Russians. Special equipment was collected
England and Wales Fire and Rescue Service under the auspices of the Home Office and the National Council of Fire Chiefs.
In addition to the equipment, one truck was loaded with much-needed equipment, mainly breathing apparatus sets, boats, fire and water personal protective equipment, a kit for safe work at height, etc.
The convoy consists of 33 fire and rescue vehicles, including 20 fire engines, 8 emergency rescue vehicles, 1 aerial ladder truck, 1 4×4 vehicle, 2 auto repair vehicles and the aforementioned 1 truck carrying more than 2800 pieces of additional equipment.
"We collected this technique and equipment in order to deliver it to where it is most needed. We witnessed the strength and resilience of Ukrainian firefighters from the very beginning of the war. As the war continues and the task before them becomes ever more difficult, the UK and the international firefighting community will continue to provide support," said National Council of Fire Chiefs Mark Hardingham.
