When the usual "empty" buckwheat porridge is boring, it's time to try something new, something that will surprise and delight you with its taste and aroma. Merchant's Greek is a great way to update ordinary buckwheat and turn it into a real culinary miracle.
Ingredients:
- Buckwheat - 1 cup
- Meat broth - 2,5 cups
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Meat - 300-400 grams (chicken, beef or pork)
- Garlic - 1-2 cloves
- Oil for frying
- Salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Italian herbs
Preparation:
Soak the buckwheat in cold water for a few minutes, then rinse it thoroughly and several times under running water. Cut the meat into small pieces. Peel and cut carrots and onions. Chop the garlic.
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or cauldron over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and stir-fry until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Add the meat and continue to fry until golden.
Add buckwheat to the pan with vegetables and meat. Lightly toast the buckwheat to infuse its aroma, about 2-3 minutes.
Add meat broth to the pan. Season with a mixture of salt, black pepper, smoked paprika and Italian herbs to taste. Add chopped garlic. Reduce the heat and simmer until the buckwheat has absorbed the broth, about 15-20 minutes. We serve Greek in the merchant's style hot, garnished with fresh green herbs.
With the help of this unique recipe, you will turn ordinary buckwheat into a delicious and sophisticated dish that will surprise your taste buds and take your culinary skills to a new level. A salad made of fresh vegetables and lightly toasted fresh bread tastes perfect with merchant buckwheat.
