The Israel Defense Forces have decided how they will retaliate against Iran, but have not yet determined the timing. The Jerusalem Post writes about this with reference to sources.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi hinted that the timing of the attack would not be immediate "to allow citizens to live almost as normal this Easter week." However, the paper notes, this may be part of a masterful hoax designed to make Iran and its proxies relax their guard.
"But at least a simple reading of the relevant signals suggests that a large-scale attack is not imminent in the coming days and may even be delayed for a longer period," JP writes.
Among the possible attack options are a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, a "medium option" - a strike on drones or ballistic missiles that directly participated in the Iranian strike, or more limited options - killing specific individuals or punishing IRGC officials abroad along with their accomplices; or a combination of some of the options listed above with a major cyber attack.
However, the publication notes, some signals indicate that the Air Force will be involved in achieving an unusually significant goal.
It is noted that the IDF has announced an exercise in the northern region to test the interaction between its cyber-technical units and the operational units of the Northern Command.
"This underscores that part of Israel's response to Iran may be in the cyber sphere. It is also possible that an attack by the Jewish state will lead to a further counterattack by Tehran and its main proxy, Hezbollah, writes JP.
Conflict between Iran and Israel - what is known
On the night of April 14, Iran attacked Israel - at least a hundred drones and missiles were launched. The Israel Defense Forces said it had shot down most of the aerial targets.
At the same time, as a result of the attack, at least 12 people were injured, including a seven-year-old child.
US President Joe Biden, during a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, convinced him not to attack Iran in response to the air attack on the night of April 14. Subsequently, Biden said that he "does not believe" in the scenario of a major war between Israel and Iran.
