At the auto show in Beijing, the Korean brand Genesis showed the G80 EV Magma Concept sedan - it lowered the suspension and widened the track, as well as added aerodynamic elements made of carbon fiber. And the Koreans also showed the updated Electrified G80 in the exclusive Vision Blue color
Electrified G80, which debuted three years ago in Shanghai, was stretched by 130 millimeters especially for China. Moreover, as on a regular sedan, headlights with microlens technology and a modified radiator grill with a G-Matrix pattern appeared here. In addition, the sedan received a 27-inch OLED display, Bang & Olufsen audio system with 17 speakers and Ergo Motion seats with massage in the second row.
The G80 EV Magma Concept is the second Genesis concept with a Magma console. Under this sub-brand, "charged" versions of the models will be sold to compete with BMW M and Mercedes-AMG. "Magmatic" sedan is painted in Acme Blue color. The choice of color is explained simply: blue flame has a higher temperature than red or orange. A lowered suspension and widened track are combined here with strengthened brakes and a new aerodynamic package. The interior features quilted leather, Alcantara and blue-tinted carbon fiber inserts.
Genesis decided not to tell about the power plant of the concept. The regular Electrified G80 is powered by two electric motors, each producing 136 kW (185 hp) and 350 Nm, and together 272 kW (370 hp) and 700 Nm. In sports mode, the sedan accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4,9 seconds. The maximum speed is 225 km/h.
