Good training is the key to good health. But nutrition is no less important, especially after exercise. Experts warn that there is one drink that does more harm than good, and at the same time is very much loved by many.

It's about smoothies. It is important to remember that they may have a different composition, and not every drink will offer everything the body needs after training.

"Smoothies are rich in vitamins and minerals, but this is almost their only advantage. They have little fiber, no protein and complex carbohydrates," says fitness instructor, nutritionist Carly James.

Nutritionist Christine Gillespie notes that post-workout snacks should contain a variety of macronutrients, including protein, fiber and healthy fats, not just carbohydrates.

"Many smoothies are unbalanced. They contain a lot of carbohydrates and sugar, and other macronutrients are almost absent," she explains.

Although smoothies contain natural sugar, drinking any sugary drinks after a workout can lower your energy levels. If you can't do without a post-workout smoothie, opt for low-calorie, high-protein options.
