The British brand Mini presented a new electric car - the Aceman family model. The manufacturer claims that this is a full-fledged crossover, although, rather, it is a hatchback with increased cross-country ability.
Just in case, we remind you that Mini belongs to the German BMW Group. It was this that gave the opportunity to British designers and engineers to promote their cars. And BMW's task at the same time is to allocate funds for the development of new models and calculation of profit.
Mini Aceman was presented at the last auto show in Beijing. It is already clear that the manufacturer is primarily counting on sales in China. However, a little later the model will be shown in EU countries. The management of the BMW Group hopes that the electric car will become a hit both in China and in Europe.
The manufacturer made a bet on models without internal combustion engines. There won't even be hybrids in the lineup - only electric cars. In the light of recent events, when the demand for such cars in the world began to fall, this decision looks controversial. However, the creators of Mini Aceman are confident that their electric car will be successful, at least in China.
The new car will occupy an intermediate position between the Cooper and Countryman models. We will remind that the first is a hatchback, and the second is a crossover. Accordingly, Aceman is something average, more universal. Although, talking about Mini in this light is not entirely correct. These cars have always been part of the image.
The model is built on a new platform. This "cart" is the only one for Aceman and Cooper in electric version and is considered the most modern.
The car turned out to be quite compact, as befits a Mini. Its length is from 4,076 to 4,094 meters. Yes, thanks to the special bumpers of more expensive modifications, they are slightly larger.
It is interesting that the second row turned out to be quite spacious for passengers - three adults can fit there. And there is even room left for the luggage compartment of 300 liters. If this is not enough, the rear seat can be folded. This will make it possible to increase the space for cargo transportation to 1 liters.
The interior of the Mini Aceman almost completely copies the Cooper model in an electric version. The illumination is multi-colored - it changes depending on the mood of the driver or the chosen mode of movement of the electric car.
Sales of the Mini Aceman will start this fall. The prices are still unknown - they promise to show the price a little later.
Instead, the manufacturer said that the new model will be offered only in all-wheel drive versions. In the basic configuration, the Mini Aceman will receive a 184 hp engine. A range of 310 km is promised - and these are real indicators according to the WLTP cycle.
In the "top" version, the Mini Aceman will receive the SE prefix. Such an electric car will develop 218 hp. Its running battery will turn out to be more capacious - they promise up to 406 km of mileage on a single charge.
