The new BYD Ocean-M is larger than the existing Seagull and Dolphin brand hatchbacks and has a profile similar to the Volkswagen Golf.
During the presentation of the model, the automaker said that the electric car will be offered at a starting price of $20 and will go on sale in the third quarter of this year.
The hatchback will use the latest generation C2B batteries. Technical characteristics have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that the model will have rear-wheel drive. BYD is positioning the upcoming model as a competitor to the Audi RS3 and Golf GTI.
At the same time, the Denza Z9 GT is a competitor to premium sedans from Porsche and BMW. The sedan measures 5180mm in length, 1990mm in width and 1500mm in height, making it roughly the same size as the Porsche Panamera GTS.
The peculiarity of the novelty is that it uses the new BYD 3.0 electric vehicle platform. The sedan was equipped with three electric motors with a total capacity of 1000 hp, which allows the Z9 GT to reach the first hundred in less than 3 seconds. The model should go on sale by the end of the year.
