The Minister of Defense of Romania discussed further assistance to Ukraine with the head of the Pentagon

The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of National Defense of Romania, Angel Tilvar. The parties discussed the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine and the further coordination of assistance to Ukraine in the field of security. This was reported by the press service of the Pentagon on Thursday, April 25.
It is noted that during the conversation, the ministers confirmed their steadfast commitment to the Ukrainian people and condemned Russia's illegal war.
"Austin also recognized Romania's position as an anchor of stability on NATO's eastern flank and thanked Bucharest for the fact that the country continues to host US and allied forces," the statement said.
They also discussed further coordination of military aid to Ukraine through the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine and future bilateral meetings.
Military support for Ukrainian defenders within the new package will be sent as soon as possible. This was announced on Thursday, April 25, by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles K. Brown.
