Most of the money allocated for Ukraine is spent in the USA and "saves American lives".
This was stated by a member of the US House of Representatives, Republican Eric Swalwell, who voted for the aid package to Kyiv.
"Aid to Ukraine is useful not only for Ukraine. This is good for our economy," the congressman said.
According to him, fifty-seven percent of the previously approved emergency aid for Ukraine was actually spent in the USA.
"About a third of this money was spent on replenishing our own reserves after payments to Ukraine. Another quarter of that amount was spent on producing weapons systems for them and training Ukrainian soldiers how to use them," Swalwell said.
"Helping Ukraine now costs less blood and money than waiting for Russia to invade its NATO neighbor. And by the way, we're creating a lot of jobs and saving a lot of American lives in the process. This is a deal we should all cheer for," he added.
