More than half of the products marketed as "healthy" were found to be high in fat, salt and/or sugar. The number of analyzed products included, among others, dried and fried legumes. It turned out that some of them contained more salt than sea water.

Despite the fact that the content of fat, saturated fat and calories turned out to be lower than in chips, the amount of salt in them exceeded 43%.

Hummus was the saltiest, as well as chili and lemon flavored chips, even though they were labeled "40% less fat, vegan, gluten-free." Legumes exceeded the norm of salt content five times.

As Sonya Pombo, head of Action on Salt, notes, the consumption of legumes is important. However, you need to pay attention to snacks that are sold in stores labeled "healthy food".

In most cases, information on the amount of calories, fat or flavor additives does not match the actual content of these substances.
