President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited Sumy region.
The head of state inspected the progress of the construction of fortifications in the region — he inspected trenches, dugouts, fire and command and observation posts. He was told about a typical project for the construction of a platoon support point, which provides for the presence of reinforced concrete structures, firing points for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, shelters made of corrugated steel. They also showed a strip of non-explosive barriers to deter enemy equipment. This was announced on March 27 on the president's website.
Zelenskyi visited the location of the 117th separate territorial defense brigade in Sumy Oblast. Major General Dmytro Krasilnikov and Brigadier Colonel Maksym Aksamitovsky, commander of the "Siversk" operational-tactical group, reported to the head of state about the operational situation. During the meeting, the president discussed with the military the need for means of combating this type of weaponry.
Zelenskyi also met with wounded defenders who are undergoing treatment in one of the hospitals. These heroes were wounded in the Kupyansk and Bakhmutsk directions and near the village of Krynka in the Kherson region.
