The American automaker has announced European prices for the new Ford Explorer electric crossover. The basic version of the model was valued at 46 thousand dollars. For this amount, customers get only one electric motor with a capacity of 168 hp. and a small 52 kWh battery, which should provide the car with a range of 370 km.
It is known that this base model will be available only in the last quarter of this year. The Extended Range modification is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh and one electric motor with a capacity of 282 hp. It is known that the crossover with a larger battery accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6,4 seconds and can cover 602 km on a single charge of the traction battery.
The most powerful version of the electric crossover from Ford boasts a 335 hp power plant, all-wheel drive and acceleration dynamics from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5,3 seconds, although the top speed of the fast electric car is the same as that of the rear-wheel drive Explorer – 180 km/h.
The all-wheel-drive Explorer has a slightly larger battery, at 79kWh, and it also gets a higher charging speed from DC stations, from 135kW to 185kW. On the other hand, the additional weight of the four-wheel drive system reduces the range to 529 km. The all-wheel drive crossover was valued at 64 euros.
