Volkswagen up was returned to production in a new format. A miniature city hatchback was turned into an unusual three-wheeled car. It was called Geparda and will soon go on sale at a price of 20 euros. This is reported by "Focus" with a link to the Motor000 website.
Volkswagen up Geparda was created especially for young drivers. The appearance of such a car is due to the peculiarities of the traffic rules of Germany and a number of other EU countries. They allow you to drive low-powered motorcycles from the age of 16, and since there are no restrictions on the weight of bikes, they decided to convert the Volkswagen up into a tricycle.
The new Geparda differs from the standard Volkswagen up in its dual rear wheels. An analogue of a three-wheeled motorcycle was released.
Of course, this design affects the handling and stability of the car, so the suspension of the Volkswagen up has been modified - improved rear springs and a front stabilizer have been installed.
In addition, a low-power 20 hp motor was installed for novice drivers. With it, the Geparda weighing 900 kg is capable of 110 km/h, that is, it can even go on the autobahn. The cabin is designed for four people, and the equipment includes ESP and 4 airbags.
